Happy Autism Awareness/Acceptance Month!

Hi again, I know I am a few days late but here is, Happy Autism Awareness/Acceptance day and month! :)

Here is a video I uploaded to my Youtube account as I thought it was too long for CNN
and here is my posted on CNN greeting:

Here is some basic information about Autism and the spectrum:

now according to latest U.S. stats its about 1 in 88 children, and in Canada about 1 in 200, although there is some controversy with the stats though which is really due to catch up stats with certain ethnic groups according the report. But hey why worry about the causes when we should be accepting those who both children & adults who have Autism and spectrum, for social, job, and housing supports especially as Autistic children grow up to be Autistic adults, and a you cannot prevent Autism either..that is like trying to prevent the sun from coming up or coming down...we are here to stay whether you agree or not, so deal with us.  We all have gifts and its up to you parents/carers to work with us not against us on our timing of life.

Those with Autism have been here on earth since the dawn of time in one way or another, and will continue to be here as long as man continues to be on earth....

Autism is NOT a tragedy but of one filled with long journey of both the up and down days, and also of learning and growing and accepting each other despite our differences and quirks....

It seems that for success in science and art, a dash of autism is essential.
— Hans Asperger

"If by some magic, autism had been eradicated from the face of the earth, then men would still be socializing in front of a wood fire at the entrance to a cave". – Dr. Temple Grandin

Back to the Swing of Things!

It's been a while since I blogged I was just trying to clear my head of internet bullies,(long story, message me on Facebook),anyway I am still going to be a Autism & Spectrum warrior & continue fighting against our injustice & discrimination.
I am also an example, I am in my mid 30's & have Asperger's.
Once story is particular that got me a bit concerned when a "friend" on Facebook who works for crank blog Age of Autism says that Autistic Adults don't exist, here is the site on which it happened look for Age of Autism repsponse on friend Kev Leitch's Left Brain/Right Brain log: http://leftbrainrightbrain.co.uk/2010/07/more-unidentified-autistic-adults-found/.
There people with Autism & history is filled with them, some early expamples,of those with Autism are Mozart,Einstein,& so forth:
http://www.child-autism-parent-cafe.com/famous-people-with-autism.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_people_on_the_autism_spectrum
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_figures_sometimes_considered_autistic
Dr.Temple Grandin famous adult Autistic:

http://www.grandin.com/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temple_Grandin
The Autistic Savant Twins Flo & Kay
Kim Peek
They are remarkable & amazing people! so if you don't believe there are Autistic Adults shame on you! You are wrong,& need to be educated! Autistic children grow up to Autistic adults! This denialism is dangerous, & often spearhead by those in the antivax community like Age of Autism,Generation Rescue, etc. Its such a shame to be in the 21st century & we still want to eradicate or "cure" people who different, yes I have seen the downsides to Autism etc,but that doesn't mean Autism is a death sentence, there are creative & real people with Autism our there.
Please here us & listen to us,before you make your decisions that Autism is hell, which is isn't! I am proud to have Asperger's its a learning curve but you make lemonade out of lemons right? Thank you for listening & have a great day, this blog will updated as I brainstorm more ideas as well. :D

Autistic/Neurodiverse Heroes:

Hi there I know that there has been a lot of Autism Spectrum bigots out there with some bloggers posting worst Autistic people, I thought I would post Autism Heroes & better retrospective that all of on the spectrum are people too, & that this world would be lost without there contribution here is my top 3!

1. Dr.Temple Grandin: she started the wave of Autism knowledge, & without here we would have known what the Autism is,she is fully diagnosed,if you read her first book "Emergence", she explains what is like not being able to talk & if it wasn't for her, we would have not have had specialized farm cattle shutes, she her webpage for full details.Another webpage as well

2. Daniel Tammet: he is a well known artist & blogger,he is also a brilliant mathematician who also has Synthesia . He can speak over 11 languages,Tammet also holds the European record for reciting pi from memory to 22,514 digits in five hours and nine minutes,& is an Author of the book "Born on a Blue Day". Here is his personal blog

3. Dan Ackroyd, he is a well know actor, without him, we would not have Saturday Night Live classics,Ghostbusters,Blues Brothers,Founder of House of Blues website & show lounges etc!

This is just the tip of the iceberg, I just want to say that anyone can be Autistic & in the Autism spectrum so please be nice to us, we could be anybody, your sister, brother, friend, neighbor etc! We are people too & all we want is to live discrimination free & in harmony with our contributions to the world!
Have a great day! Zoey =)
