A Simple Wish & Dream...(for Autistics Speaking Day 2011)

Hi there everyone I just wanted to wish all a happy Autistics speaking day! I want to say to all the parents & carers, I know your doing your best to raise your children & I admire especially those who are single parenting/caregiving those living on the Autism spectrum (my sister is a single mother of 2 very bright & wonderful Autistic young adults) & I know as a person myself on the spectrum (Aspergers/ HFA), I have had some disagreements with some in the past because sometimes adults on the spectrum & parents of those on the spectrum often have communications differences of dreams, goals & hopes (as you know the spectrum is vast with communication “differences”). Everyone has different ideas on what causes Autism & spectrum & how it should be approached. My goal is still one day for all us despite any differences of opinion we have to have not only have peaceful coexistance, & awareness of Autism but acceptance of Autism & those who are on the spectrum & for those of us on the spectrum to also do our best to understand what parents go through as well (I know its hard due to our communications issues but if you look at us inside we have good hearts & mean well) & we can fight the real battle & that is general public to accept us as well because if we quarrel in the community then how are we supposed to get the public to take us seriously & not to discriminate against us? I know its not easy but we should at try to grow with each other, its called life. Thank you for reading this & have a great day! See my previous postings to learn more about Autism.

Hello again,I will not be posting real names of the guilty as to protect there "integrety" they know who they are & my friends know who I am talking about as I don't want to stoop to there levels! By the way if they or there "supporters" (aka stooges or trolls) respond to this blog in any way shape or form they will have blown there protection & cover of who they really are as I want to keep this friendly & positive as I can & I use only real names for the people who respond to my blog.

Well as you know I have posted my side of my life on a major blog: Autism.about.com blog run by my friend Lisa Jo Rudy. For that please see my previous posting. I would like to explain my side of things as this will help me move on. I have come to accept there will always be people who disagree me as there are so many fractures within the Autism community that its nearly impossible to straighten out. I thought as a person on the spectrum I could be that cleaner upper & advocate helper, but its proven harder than I thought. I know that I sometimes I have a bit of a temper & I am sorry for that however I am trying my best to move on to help those who actually need it & I don't feel like I should have to defend myself everytime someone tries to take shots at me. I wish these people will understand that I am only human too & not a monster in which there screenshots only have all my negative conversations with them. I am not a bully but someone with Aspergers/HFA who because the net is devoid of real human contact which sometimes make it difficult for me to really associate with people but this the only way I can reach out to make friends, the good, the bad & ugly! lol! I feel that I am still a respectable member of the Autism community as I have so many more friends online that talk to me & allow me to say my feelings without going into war. I don't want war, I want peace & harmony which my bullies & stalkers may find hard to believe as they have there own walls up. Anyway these bullies which for protections sake will name "mean mommy bear" & "Gertie Gorilla", (if the parents are doing it what are they teaching there children?) as I said if they defend themselves over this blog where real names not being used they have blown there protected cover. On Lisa's blog all I did was air my innocent story of what it was like growing up & I would still like to thank Lisa for allowing my story article to stay up but what happened is that "mean mommy bear" started dredging things she thinks I did wrong to her in the past which was highly out of order on that blog & unethical for that article then I defended myself a little & accused the wrong bully,well I apologized to this bully (Gertie Gorilla) but she just aired the apology & dredged up a little more dirt without remorse! Sorry but these are not advocates in my opinion but people with a personal grudge against me who refuse to move on & are obssessed with doing the wrong thing. Also when my real friends defended me they took shots at them too,"see what a monster she is we have the screenshots to prove it" they would say. Yes I may have responded stupidly to there little wargames however, I am still a real contributer with my experiences with my Autism family members. etc,to the Autism community as on Facebook,Twitter etc, I post news links, stories,share others links,stories etc, run some groups etc,& frankly without all of the stuff I do for the community there would be something missing as my real friends & followers depend on me to do this as often as I can. By the way after this blog I will be posting some links to cyberbullying info etc you can look at. It seems no matter where I go these cyberbullies want have my head on a platter & put me out of business because they want to be the heroes. Its alright to disagree with me but any negative attitude behind it is not, & that's how I label a bully. Its a shame that Lisa had to delete ALL the comments & not allow any more because of this issue (at least she has a discussion article on the subject), so the bullies not only ruined it for me, but for Lisa & all her viewers of the blog (yes it was Lisa's overall decision but they were the infuencing factor in that decision), & they have no one but themselves to blame for this as I had a right to air my story & it was Lisa's blog so no need to dredge up the past disagreements for this article,but just comment nicely whether you agree or disagree with it,however they pushed the bounderies by acting vicious & mean about it therefore ruining it for everyone. I respect Lisa as she is my friend I support her & have supported her when other so called " Autism organizations" took shots at her for her previous articles. It seems to the bullies there is free speech but not for me. Its the old I hate Zoey so much she doesn't have any rights syndrome. When that's done they hurt others too as they refuse to move on. These bullies have also bashed a few of my friends too,not nice & frankly time for them to stop acting like children & grow up! If this the way you teach your children then frankly I am ashamed of those bullies! By the way they can take all the screenshots they like however it only shows one side of the story,they often don't show how I was provoked or the arguements started anyway,just what I say after the fact in which I am doing my best to watch what I say.

Well in conclusion I would like to thank my friends & followers for there support of me, A Big Thank You! :) I hope you have enjoyed this article & remember I have not used real names here & these are just opinions & feelings but the trolls will find some excuse anyway to blast me,& I get stronger & stronger each time they push me & will forge on & will not be stopped from airing my opinions,news articles etc. I however have also learned about a few things from each disagreement that life holds & It seems also that adult Autistics are not allowed opinions either which is a threat to free speech & called hate speech,it's a shame that these bullies are parents, I feel so sorry for there kids & would NEVER EVER attack the kids of those parents with whom I am disagreeing with. Why would I take my disagreements out on them? Lets leave your kids out of the disagreements ok? They are the pawns & innocent ones. They are the ones I fight for everyday for the rights of all Autistics & the day we can one day get together & do some real fighting against the discrimination,hatred & lack of services we see everyday from our level & the childrens level as well (as the money goes to finding this so called "cure" & cause of Autism thing instead which in my opinion is power,greed & politically motivated as parents are afraid the negative attention will attract funding for there cause & bullies are often mad with power as well, another story for another day). They are self centered people who only care about themselves & want to bring others down with them. So please everyone please stop the schoolyard fighting its getting not only downright ugly it turns people off to your cause. We need to honor and support those in your life who what Autism/Asperger's and the spectrum which is full of color and diversity. Instead of focusing on the "dark" side of Autism we need to celebrate and focus on our gifts and skills we can do and say hey! Autism is not a death sentence,we can work with the quirks and shine through to show that those of us on the spectrum are people too!

Friend 2 Friend Review

Hi gang,sorry I haven`t posted in a while again lol!...I got to be a guest speaker at the Autism course at our local college.(another day,another time) Now for my review,a couple of weeks back I got the privilege to go a free day workshop on a new form of IPG (Integrated Play Group). This therapy I feel is Autism friendly, it entails,showing demonstrations of what having Autism feels, like,actual footage for those delivering this therapy of the real testimonials,a puppet play of having the children, being part of fun,instead of preaching straight to them. This is run by Heather McCracken,who has an Autistic son herself,& those with Autism are welcome to be a part of the team too. By the way this is in no way a "cure" and I agree with her,as you can only "recover" certain symptoms associated with Autism if caught early enough. but this is a fun way for your child on there own time to come out there shell. Please if you have any questions please feel free to email here & go to the links provided on a picture of her card (&under the pic as well) I am including. I highly recommend this therapy,if you have any questions please let her know she is the specialist,please don't ask me,thank you everyone! :D

Hello there,this another great episode from your friend & favorite Aspergian Zoey,I am so tired of my fellow Auties & Aspies,getting bashed simply because there is myth that we don't know anything & all we do is bash our heads against walls & pull temper tantrums,& regress. Yes I admit there are children on the spectrum who do that,but that is no reason to shut out the higher thinking Autistics, its time these parents see beyond themselves & that they are not alone,& there can be a benefit with who we are,as we are here to stay whether you agree or not. I am trying my best to be positive & that is why I try to air positive links on Facebook, Twitter,etc. Sure Autism also its "days" but there is a light at the end of the tunnel, you parents can't stay hard headed forever,you also have to come out of your negative about Autism shells. Take Dr Temple Grandin for example,she in her own autobiography taught herself to read,talk,etc & even went to university despite her own obstacles. Instead of saying oh wo what do we do? Well for starters its good to (if you can afford it,if you can't please get some sort of funding help) to get an ipod touch or gaming device (portible or console) to keep them busy,they are less likely to tantrum,for parents banging the head against the wall for you is not going to help the child! By the way the goal is not to conquer Autism,its the symptoms associated with Autism that need to be worked with & I believe that acceptance is the start to anything. In my view its the antivax fearmongering from groups like Generation Rescue & its propaganda arm Age of Autism (to name of few) that spread the uneccessary fears & misinformation that Autism & the spectrum are bad & even censor there informaton & make fun of Autistic Advocates & those who are higher function as well who try to think positive about Autism. The only Autistics welcome are those Autistics who act like traitors & the so called "cured" Autistics. There is no "cure" for Autism because it's neurogical & in the genes. I will post links at the end of this blog. We have lots of gifts & talents, we are the inventors,professors,actors,in fact you never know who has Autistic traits,we are a special set of people,after all some people in the deaf community (actress,activist Marlee Matlin for example) have made great strides,if those people were "cured" we wouldn't have them & its like a lobotomy you just stifle there gifts & creativity. Just because your child is not perfect doesn't mean they are incapable you have to work with them at there level,like a cocoon,if you force children,of course they will rebel,you have to work positively with them. Autistics have feelings too we just have different way of expressing things. One of my talents is art for example I am a creative person, I also have an active imagination,& I have won for my art when I was in school. My goal is to educate as many as possible that will listen & be open to us. Listen guys I am sorry I don't know about every situation & sorry about things that happen to you, but nobody guaranteed life to perfect, like the song says I never promised you a rose garden,but hey if life gives you lemons you make lemonade right? That its what today's technology is for also! There should be respect for everyone even those with special needs like us. Those parents who want a "cure" please think through this thought first,is the "cure" for me or for the child? By the way parents who think they are alone are sadly mistaken they are not alone they have other parents & those on the Autism & related spectrum! You just have to open your eyes & ears beyond your situation!

They are remarkable & amazing people! so if you don't believe there are Autistic Adults shame on you! You are wrong,& need to be educated! Autistic children grow up to Autistic adults! Hi everyone my first official posting of 2010. Happy New Year all,anyway, I would like to report there is some blatent anti Autism discrimination going around in the case of young Zakh Price. He is a wonderful young man,he needs your help,as his school district was using not only illegial restraints on him,when he escaped from his restraints the law has charged him with a felony, which is highly rediculous as he is only 11 years old. The restraint system is medieval torture, & I would escape too if I was in the situation.

If Zakh is declared incompetent as part of the hearing scheduled for January 12th, state law requires that he be placed into a mental hospital for at least 30 days. Carole's grandmother fears that, due to the negative repercussions of being taken out of the community and being forced into an institutional setting, Zakh may lose skills in such an environment and not be returned to her indefinitely.

Hi there I know that there has been a lot of Autism Spectrum bigots out there with some bloggers posting worst Autistic people, I thought I would post Autism Heroes & better retrospective that all of on the spectrum are people too, & that this world would be lost without there contribution here is my top 3!

1. Dr.Temple Grandin: she started the wave of Autism knowledge, & without here we would have known what the Autism is,she is fully diagnosed,if you read her first book "Emergence", she explains what is like not being able to talk & if it wasn't for her, we would have not have had specialized farm cattle shutes, she her webpage for full details.Another webpage as well

2. Daniel Tammet: he is a well known artist & blogger,he is also a brilliant mathematician who also has Synthesia . He can speak over 11 languages,Tammet also holds the European record for reciting pi from memory to 22,514 digits in five hours and nine minutes,& is an Author of the book "Born on a Blue Day". 3. Dan Ackroyd, he is a well know actor, without him, we would not have Saturday Night Live classics,Ghostbusters,Blues Brothers,Founder of House of Blues website & show lounges etc!

horrible news, I have been banned from posting links or stories, through the posting on Facebook because I did was post essential information of pro vax stories, & links & stories, open to that issue peacefully without any name calling or swearing at them, on the Generation Rescue Facebook group & they started not only giving me the you don't care routine, they complained to Facebook admins about it & now I cannot post anything, & recieved the warning of abuse on Facebook, & not only that on there group after posting & talking peacefully they acted like a pack of wolves attacking me when I wasn't judging or telling anyone what to do, I am a peaceful Autism/Asperger's & Spectrum Advocate, they seem to like censorship especially with there associated website of Age of Autism. All I am doing is trying to peacefully open the flow of Autism education & the free flow of informed information, & that Autistics are people too! I admit because of Asperger's my social cues aren't exactly the best in the world, I don't like violence & want to defend as peacefully as possible, I am sorry about there specific situations & all I am doing is trying to help, but I guess when certain people have chips on there shoulders due to fear mongering in the first place. I feel that this group is a wolf in sheeps clothing, as I repeated over again they don't petition for Autism rights also, & want Autism banned,cured, & swept under the rug, & the only Autistic people allowed are those who are cured, & also agree with there one sided philosophies,some of the diehard members, have been lowered to name calling & harrassing, those people, even Autistics that don't agree with Generation Rescue. I have emailed the Facebook admins today!

Hi again, I just wanted to say how upset I am by the opinions of a certain anti Autism blogger (who shall remain nameless for now), this person's useless opinion tirade against those of us with Autism in the spectrum & any supporters of Neurodiversity is a threat not only to us but to society as a whole, these are statements that threaten everyone.(this persona also threatens Gays in his rants) This person has threatened Ari Ne eman, (& Mr. Ne eman's mother as well) couragous leader of ASAN (Autistic Self Advocacy Netowork) http://www.autisticadvocacy.org/ & the Newsweek article: http://www.newsweek.com/id/197813/page/1 I will not provide the link to this person's site as it is full of hate, & misinformation & is simply not true, I have Asperger's myself, with 2 nephews who are Autistic so I should know & I have seen all the messy houses, my sister's personal roller coaster, running away, etc. This person has Also threatened my friend Kev Leitch who wrote a blog about this person, & one of the leaders of Left Brain Right Brain site which has more open minded info than sites & groups like Age of Autism, Generation Rescue etc..All I can say is that I give my support to Mr. Leitch & Mr Ne eman for standing up to the bullies of Autism Civil Rights. Yes the diagnoses according to the Autism & Asperger's are two different things, but they are two different branches of the same tree, when I was dx'd my doctor may have admitted they were two different things, & said that depending who I talk to when I explain my Asperger's if people don't know what Asperger's is I explain its in the the upper spectrum of Autism which genetically its true! If this person had said something about say Down's Syndrome or somebody that is in a wheelchair what this person had said there would be major outrage over his opinions. If you support Kev Leitch please come forward the more support the more we can stop this misinformation about Autism & Neurodiversity which is not just the Autism Spectrum but all cognitive & mental,physical impairments or special needs as well. I think that those of us on the upper spectrum can have an opinion too you know & we are people also. I feel that some of these anti Autism & Neurodiversity opionions of hate are going back to the Nazi's & Eugenics, & Ethnic cleansing, but last time I look all UN, Canada, & United States disability rules apply to those with Autism as well. Vax Fears & the Pandemonium it Creates (opinion only)

Hi everyone I just wanted to put my humble opinion about this topic because I am frustrated with the censorship of this issue & the paranoia it creates, Its about the Autism Vax correlation theory, remember that these are theories, especially if your a parent who is looking for the issue the first time. I am not disputing that some parents may have children who have Autism by vaccination & some children who overcome Autism as well, I don't want to preach or tell you parents what to do about your child. However I am please urging you to all think with both sides of the issue first, & not one based on fear of the unknown, based on what I believe is one sided propaganda. I myself have Asperger's & one of my nephews has low to med verbal Autism & his brother has Asperger's like I do (we are officially diagnosed by the way), I have also see what Autism can do to families (running away from home,major messy houses etc), I believe in the Genetic factor & we are also decades, aport, & before you demonize the Vaccination as the total cause of Autism is upsetting to me as a person on the Autism Spectrum that 3/4 of the groups & info out including the well meaning groups & websites who say they are here to help us actually doing more harm than good on today's chidren (in fact in my diagnoses & my nephews the cause was not an issue) however these groups at the same time also put down people who don't agree with them on the anti vax issue & condemning those who are currently on the spectrum & happy with the way the are.

After this is done, I provide links on both sides of issue.

What upsets me the most is groups like Generation Rescue, Autism Speaks, Jenny McCarthy, (who is getting her own show too! scary) etc, with big followings based on limited or one side of the Anti Vax & cure debate, these groups do not represent me or my views. If you want to follow them that is your decision, however I believe in openess for information coming the scientists and other websites as well, like the CDC & WHO government organizations, I am defending the government either, in order to make an informed choice, the free flow of free speech and information need to given. I know that some people have overcomed there Autism, however that is very cases about 10% as per last news listings. I don't like quackery on either side. There are other Autistics who feel like I do, I have a feeling some are afraid to come forward because of intimating power of these groups because they will harrass & make fun opposers on their sites, & completely dispell the medical & science community which really wish to help (unless certain Dr's etc are on their side). Please listen to me with an open heart, I mean no ill will towards these groups, they just are upsetting me with their one sided views & philosophies, that are most often based on big financial kickbacks & pushy lawyers as well (not in all cases). Remember the tirade on "The Doctors" program, where they wanted to make fun of the doctors for not agreeing with them, also remember the fiasco with Andrew Wakefield & the Lancet which pulled his study after finding kickbacks & money grants he recieved for his flawed studies, & technically he is no longer a Dr. anymore,but some parents still praise him anyway as a hero:

Conclusion more research & more unbiased studies need to be done on what causes Autism & overcoming Autism & also not to dispell environmental factors which these groups try to cover up as well just to get money from the Vaccine companies whiching is going the wrong way instead of petitioning for Autism rights & for us to be recognized as a people. Please don't let fear & hatred influence your decision. Its my view that you cannot over Autism totally only the major symptoms associated with it, because of the Genetic base & Autism has been around longer than the Vaccinations itself, Einstein, Mozart, etc, who is trying to cover up who is the question, like calling the tea kettle black...

Book review of "Not Stupid" written by Anna Kennedy

Here is my latest book review! hope you enjoy it! I know I did :)

I have had the privilage of reading a really wonderful book called "Not Stupid" by Anna Kennedy. She is married to a man named Sean who has Asperger's & has 2 sons, Patrick the oldest has Asperger's & Angelo the youngest has Autism. They live in the Hillingdon area of the UK (United Kingdom). This book "Not Stupid" gives insites to Autism & how it personally affects families. I also know this first hand as I have also have Asperger's (which is in the Autism spectrum family tree, its a social disfunction meaning for social interactions. Two of my nephews have Autism as well, the oldest one has low to medium verbal Autism while the younger one has high functioning Asperger's like I do, this story reminded of them. The ending also has notes by son Patrick & Husband Sean. This is a great real story! I agree with Sean in a quote from the book "I believe society's attitudes towards some disabilities needs to change. There needs to be more awareness of certain conditions if people with disabilities are to be given the opportunity to show what they can do in the workplace". This is a very heartwarming biography that is enjoyable by all!
